Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

Please let me know the thyroid function test results to guide you further. Hypothyroidism is treated based on the symptoms and the level of TSH. Ayurvedic medicines can be taken along with allopathy medicine and regular checkups to assess the function of the thyroid gland.

Ayurvedic medicines like Varunadi kvath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice dialy and Thyrocon for thyroid disorders can be taken for a month and reviewed.

Include cinnamon, whole grains, iodised salt, drum stick leaves, bottle gourd, pomegranate, green tea and horse gram. Reduce excess cabbage, sugar, oil, sweets, peaches, mustard greens, radish, peas and soya.

Regular exercise and healthy eating helps to control weight which is a problem in hypothyroidism. Yogasanas like marjaryasana, balasana, assisted sarvangasana, balasana, pavanamuktasana, halasana, matsyasana and shalabhasana are beneficial.
